The study primarily intends to understand the consumption pattern and purchasing behaviour of Malayalis during the lockdown period imposed by the central government in India to contain the spread of coronavirus. For data collection, the study relied on an online survey administered between 28th April 2020 and 6th May 2020. Responses indicate an increased dependence of Malayalis on ration shops during the study period.
