Centre for Socio-economic and Environmental Studies (CSES) and the Department of Youth Welfare, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) jointly organised the Workshop on Youth Labour Market Outcomes in Kerala: A Gender Perspective on 30th March 2022 at the Centre for Budget Studies, CUSAT. The Workshop was inaugurated by Dr. K.N. Madhusoodanan, Vice-Chancellor, CUSAT. Dr. Jayan Jose Thomas, Professor of Economics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi, delivered the keynote address.
In the Workshop, academicians, researchers, students, policymakers and practitioners shared their views on the emerging labour market dynamics concerning youth in Kerala from a gender perspective. The Workshop further discussed the emerging trends and patterns of the youth labour market in Kerala, how social conditioning affects the participation of men and women in the labour market and interventions to improve labour market outcomes by providing skill development and entrepreneurship.
