The roundtable on Indebtedness among Rural Households in Kerala was held on 27th February 2020, at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). The event was jointly organised by CSES and Centre for Budget Studies, CUSAT. The roundtable rigorously discussed the issue of increasing debt burden of rural population and the way to mitigate the over-indebtedness faced by them. Around fourty experts including researchers, academicians, policy formulators and representatives of various financial institutions actively participated in the deliberations. The participants also presented the findings of their research and shared their experience with regard to the ground level interventions in the rural economy.
