The Center for Socio-economic and Environmental Studies (CSES), in collaboration with the Department of Economics at Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam, organised a public lecture on “Unleashing the Power of Data in the Era of ChatGPT”. Prof. Joemon M. Jose, an eminent scholar and Professor of Information Retrieval at the School of Computing Science in the University of Glasgow, delivered the keynote address. He elaborated on various theoretical models that analyze and interpret the tremendous burden of information generated by the Internet and social media platforms. Prof. P.G. Sankaran, the Vice-Chancellor of Cochin University of Science and Technology, during his special address explained how advanced algorithms and language models, including ChatGPT, have contributed to the development of linguistic models and the evolution of their applications in the field of technological knowledge and algorithms.
Dr. V.S. Joy, Principal of Maharaja’s College, presided over the event, and Dr. N. Ajithkumar, Director of CSES, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Santhosh T. Varghese, Head of the Department of Economics, Maharaja’s College Ernakulam, extended thanks to the speakers and the audience.
