The CSES family mourns the passing of Sri. Krishnakumar KK, Founder-Secretary and Senior Fellow, CSES. A renowned social scientist, he had worked extensively on decentralised governance, fiscal decentralisation, public finance, and public service delivery. His expertise in Local Self-Governments was well respected in the state and at the national level. He, along with Prof. K K George, had contributed extensively to the state policy and literature on Centre-State Fiscal relations and Finance Commissions. He was a former Syndicate Member at the Cochin University of Science and Technology and a former Member of the Expert Committee on Resources and Plan Implementation constituted by the Kerala State Planning Board. He had also worked closely with many Local Self-Governments in the state. He was also key to the planning and execution of many national-level surveys by CSES across Kerala and other states in South India. He was an alumnus of the Government Engineering College, Thrissur and the School of Management Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology.
