RIP Prof. K K George. I’m deeply saddened by the news that KKG will not be with us anymore. His departure comes at a time when the lofty ideal of Federalism he so closely upheld is facing the threat of disintegration. I have a personally learned a lot from him and his work. My close personal association with him while we lived in the same campus at CDS spanned for several years. He defined Kerala’s sound and rational position on Center— State relations that both LDF and UDF benefitted from. He was a witty, vivacious, socially concerned academic whose demise causes an irrecoverable loss to the academia and Kerala’s public sphere. My deepest condolences go to all his kith and kin, and hope they have the strength to bear the inexorable agony of his passing.
