CSES Young Scholars’ Colloquy on October 12

CSES Young Scholars’ Colloquy, a platform launched by Kochi-based Centre for Socio-Economic and Environmental Studies for young scholars to engage with peers and discuss their research, will feature Abdul Basith at its next session on October 12 at 4 p.m. Mr. Basith is an assistant professor of Sociology, University of Kerala, who completed his PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He would speak on his doctoral research, said a communication from CSES. The doctoral work examines developmental disparity at the district level in Kerala with regard to health access and utilisation, with focus on the historic formation of the State and events that led to the creation of ‘Model Development’. The research area included public health, development, disparities in health care and access, focusing on marginalised sections of society, the communication added.
