Release of the Autobiography of Prof. KK George

The State has to increase its investment in infrastructure significantly in the creation of a new Kerala (Navakeralam), said former Kerala Finance Minister, Dr. T M Thomas Issac. He was speaking after releasing the autobiography of renowned Economist Professor K K George, titled “A Journal of My Life”. Dr. Issac pointed out that Kerala had drawn worldwide attention for its development experience based on judicious distribution. Even when this experience was widely discussed, doubts on its sustainability were also raised. The major criticism raised was that if the State is not able to improve its fiscal situation, even if the state experiences economic growth, there will be limits to investment in the social sector. Professor George was one of the foremost persons who raised these limits that would arise in the path of Kerala’s development, Dr. Issac said. He also remembered that economists including Professor George and Professor IS Gulati had always stood along with the State. Dr. Isaac added that Kerala is grateful to Prof. K K George for his contributions in shaping the development path of the state.

The first copy of the autobiography was received by Hon’ble Justice C.N. Ramachandran Nair (Retd. Judge, High Court of Kerala).  KCHR Chairperson Dr. P K Michael Tharakan presided over the function held at the Cochin University of Science and Technology. Shri. P.
