Dr. S. Muraleedharan

Visiting Fellow

Dr. Muraleedharan holds a Ph.D in Economics.  His areas of interest include Economics of Technology, Environmental Economics, Social Capital and Women Empowerment. Formerly, he was Head of the Department and Associate Professor in Economics, Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam.  He is a Research Supervisor in Economics of the Mahatma Gandhi University.  He is also a Visiting Faculty (International Trade) of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi and School of Industrial Fisheries, Cochin University of Science and Technology (Environmental economics and International Trade), Kochi.  In the past, he was also associated (as guest faculty) with Albertian Institute of Management and Euro-Tech Maritime Academy.

He was Project Consultant (Senior), ARTISTICC (International Project on Climate Change Adaptation), School of Industrial Fisheries, CUSAT. He was a Project Consultant in the Research Project “Group Farming in Kerala” of the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi.

The positions he held in the past include: Principal In Charge, Maharaja’s  College;  Member, MSMEs Sub Group (Industry), 11th Five Year Plan, Planning Board, Government of Kerala; Member, Board of Studies in Economics of Mahatma Gandhi University and Sree Sankara University; Member Board of Studies in Economics of Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam and Sacred Heart College, Kochi (both autonomous colleges); Coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Maharaja’s College.   Prior to joining service in the collegiate education department, he worked as Auditor in Local Fund Accounts Department, Government of Kerala and as Development Officer, Life Insurance Corporation of India.
