A state-level workshop on Government Initiatives for Persons with Disabilities was held at Thiruvananthapuram on December 12, 2018. The workshop was organised jointly by CSES and the Directorate of Social Justice, Government of Kerala. The workshop was attended by officials of different government departments and agencies. The workshop discussed the initiatives of the government to ensure the rights of persons with disabilities and identified the issues in the implementation of different programmes/projects/schemes. It also identified some gaps in the implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 in Kerala. The workshop also provided some directions to move forward.
