Who We Are
The Centre for Socio-economic and Environmental Studies (CSES) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization for promoting policy and action oriented research, consultancy and training programmes. The Centre seeks to fill a critical gap between the academic world on the one hand and the policy makers, opinion shapers and the general public on the other. It was established in 1996 by a group of academics, scientists, technologists, management experts and social activists. The legal status of the Centre is that of a society registered under the Travancore-Cochin Charitable, Scientific and Literary Societies Act 1955.
